It uses the elements set-up in the premiere but doesn’t really build on them, and the least-inspired subplot of Boyle’s crush on Rosa is not worthy of the attention it gets. This doesn’t happen often, but I feel like this was a weaker episode than the Pilot. It’s not like this show at all other than being about police, one of whom is Andre Braugher, but it is amazing, and so is Andre Braugher. If you’ve never seen Homicide: Life on the Street, do.
